Customs clearance of cars in Moldova in 2014


Customs excise duties in Moldova increased by an average of 4.3% compared to 2013. Customs duties on imported cars are increasing to six euro cents per cubic centimeter of engine volume.

The excise on cars with larger engine capacity has significantly decreased: from 3.5 euros per cubic centimeter to 2 euros.

The age limit for imported cars is 10 years.

For cars with petrol engines:

Engine volume up to 1000 cm3, rates:

  • up to 7 years - 0.38 Euro/cm3
  • 8 years - 0.42 Euro/cm3
  • 9 years - 0.44 Euro/cm3
  • 10 years - 0.46 Euro/cm3

 

Engine volume from 1001 to 1500 cm3:

  • up to 7 years - 0.52 Euro/cm3
  • 8 years - 0.55 Euro/cm3
  • 9 years - 0.57 Euro/cm3
  • 10 years - 0.60 Euro/cm3

 

Engine volume from 1501 to 2000 cm3:

  • up to 7 years - 0.81 Euro/cm3
  • 8 years - 0.85 Euro/cm3
  • 9 years - 0.89 Euro/cm3
  • 10 years - 0.93 Euro/cm3

 

Engine volume from 2001 to 3000 cm3:

  • up to 7 years - 1.32 Euro/cm3
  • 8 years - 1.39 Euro/cm3
  • 9 years - 1.46 Euro/cm3
  • 10 years - 1.52 Euro/cm3

 

Engine volume above 3001 cm3:

  • up to 10 years - 2 Euro/cm3

 

For cars with diesel engines:

Engine volume up to 1500 cm3:

  • up to 7 years - 0.52 Euro/cm3
  • 8 years - 0.55 Euro/cm3
  • 9 years - 0.57 Euro/cm3
  • 10 years - 0.60 Euro/cm3

 

Engine volume from 1501 to 2500 cm3:

  • up to 7 years - 1.32 Euro/cm3
  • 8 years - 1.39 Euro/cm3
  • 9 years - 1.46 Euro/cm3
  • 10 years - 1.52 Euro/cm3

 

Engine volume above 2501 cm3:

  • up to 10 years - 2 Euro/cm3
